This article is a very liberal article written about how heath care will indeed be very pricy but the amount and quality of care provided will outweigh any costs. The National Treasury predicts that the bill will create $14 billion worth of debt by 2019. John Podesta though, head of the Obama transition team, would, "create a balance" with other economies. Though Democrats are in support of the bill, they realize the potential fiscal damage that will be done to the nation if the bill is passed. "Examining the Democrats' health care proposals, William Galston, domestic policy adviser in the Clinton White House, writes, 'We're already facing an unsustainable fiscal future.'" Medicare is the shining example of what health care will be like for all Americans and along with that care, Americans will foot the bill. This bill before the Senate is estimated to cost over $1 trillion. An economist suggests that, "the AAA rating of Treasury bonds, the world's most important security, could be in jeopardy." He says this because the treasury measures debt in America in 2019 to be at over $700 billion. Many Democrats and Republicans alike are already concerned with with America's fiscally unsure future and putting a bill into action that adds to this level of unsureness seems like a lose-lose situation to some. This article addresses my research question by making it known that indeed, there will be an increase of money that American citizens will have to pay and it might even create future debt, but that it will help the American system of health care today and provide Americans with stability and reliability that there will always be a doctor there to take care of them.
